About the Role

International Facilities Services Limited (IFS) is a leading global facilities management company delivering cost-effective, sustainable, and tech-driven hard and soft services across Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and the Middle East. We are currently looking for a proactive HSE Officer to champion and embed a world-class safety culture across our diverse operational sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver comprehensive HSE induction training for all new staff and subcontractors prior to site deployment.
  • Develop, maintain, and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for all hard and soft facilities management activities.
  • Conduct routine site safety inspections, audits, and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
  • Lead thorough incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and maintain accurate records for near-misses and non-conformances.
  • Oversee robust permit-to-work systems for high-risk operations including electrical isolation, working at height, and hot works.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Nigerian HSE regulations and statutory bodies such as NESREA.
  • Drive a proactive safety culture through engaging toolbox talks, safety campaigns, and emergency drill coordination.
Qualifications
  • Degree or HND in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Valid NEBOSH General Certificate is required; NEBOSH Diploma, ISPON, or IOSH credentials are distinct advantages.
  • Minimum of 5 years of dedicated HSE experience within Facilities Management, construction, or large public-venue environments.
  • Solid working knowledge of RAMS, permit-to-work procedures, and local Nigerian environmental compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in utilizing CMMS or CAFM platforms for digital tracking of safety documentation and inspections.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and crisis-management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
