About the Role
Barachel School is a well-established institution offering both day and boarding education, dedicated to identifying, encouraging, and nurturing the special qualities of every pupil. We are currently looking for a skilled and passionate Hostel Cook to join our dynamic domestic team and ensure our boarding students receive healthy, delicious meals daily.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and prepare well-balanced, nutritious meals for boarding students and staff in accordance with the school menu.
- Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene, food safety, and sanitation in compliance with health regulations.
- Manage food inventory, monitor stock levels, and report necessary kitchen supplies and groceries to management.
- Handle food storage properly, minimizing waste and ensuring ingredients are kept fresh.
- Collaborate with school authorities to accommodate special dietary needs or medical requirements of students.
- Ensure timely preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant professional cooking experience, preferably within a school, hostel, or hospitality setting.
- Possess relevant culinary certifications, food handling permits, or secondary school education.
- Demonstrated knowledge of local and continental meal preparation in large quantities.
- Strong understanding of kitchen safety, hygiene practices, and nutritional standards.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain a positive attitude in a busy environment.
