About the Role
The Diocese of Evo Education Board invites passionate and qualified educators to apply for the position of Home Economics Teacher at one of our prestigious missionary institutions located in Obio-Akpor, Rivers State. In this role, you will inspire students, foster a positive learning environment, and uphold the high academic and moral standards of our educational community.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging and comprehensive Home Economics lessons in accordance with the approved Nigerian secondary school curriculum.
- Prepare students effectively for external examinations, including WAEC and NECO, ensuring excellent performance.
- Design practical and theoretical assessments that measure student comprehension and skill development.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and well-managed classroom and laboratory environment for practical sessions.
- Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to students to support their personal and academic growth.
- Participate actively in school events, staff meetings, and professional development programs organized by the Board.
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed.) in Home Economics or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of verified professional teaching experience.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience teaching WAEC and NECO syllabus classes is a distinct advantage.
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of modern, interactive teaching methodologies and classroom management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage students effectively.
