About the Role
Our Lady & St. Francis Catholic College (OSCCO), Osogbo, is a prestigious co-educational secondary school owned and managed by the Catholic Diocese of Osogbo. Since our establishment in the 1993/1994 academic session, we have remained deeply committed to raising students of exceptional moral character and academic excellence. We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated History Teacher to join our esteemed faculty and bring the past to life for our bright students.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, well-structured History lessons in accordance with the Nigerian and international secondary school curricula.
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessment tools to evaluate student progress effectively.
- Foster an inclusive, stimulating, and disciplined classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and historical inquiry.
- Assess and grade students' assignments, projects, and examinations, providing constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
- Participate actively in school events, departmental meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and extracurricular activities.
- Mentor students and instill core moral values in alignment with the Catholic ethos of the institution.
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree in History, Education (History), or a closely related field from a recognized tertiary institution.
- A relevant teaching certification (such as TRCN, PGDE, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated prior experience teaching History at the secondary school level will be a distinct advantage.
