About the Role
The Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC) is a premier federal tertiary health institution dedicated to providing exceptional medical education, research, and patient care in Nigeria. We are currently seeking a diligent and organized Higher Stores Officer to join our dynamic administrative and supply chain team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the efficient management, storage, and distribution of medical and general supplies essential for our daily healthcare operations.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming goods, materials, and medical supplies against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, stock ledgers, and database systems using modern inventory management techniques.
- Coordinate the safe and systematic storage of items in the hospital stores to prevent damage, spoilage, or loss.
- Process requisitions and issue materials to various departments promptly upon proper authorization.
- Conduct periodic physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
- Prepare regular stock reports for management to facilitate timely reordering and budget planning.
- Ensure compliance with federal public service regulations and institutional safety standards within the storehouse.
- Candidates must possess a Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognized institution in Purchasing and Supply, Marketing, Insurance, Business Studies, or Business Administration.
- Must provide evidence of completion of, or exemption/exclusion from, the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and inventory management software.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with hospital departments and external vendors.
