We are currently looking for a skilled and dedicated Heavy-Duty Mechanic Trainer to join our dynamic team in Nasarawa State, Nigeria. In this vital role, you will empower our mechanical workforce by delivering top-tier practical and theoretical training, ensuring our heavy-duty fleet operates at peak efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive practical and theoretical training to heavy-duty mechanics on mining and construction equipment.
- Train staff in the maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, and repair of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and electrical components.
- Instruct personnel on best practices for preventive and scheduled maintenance procedures.
- Assess technical knowledge and practical skills to identify capability gaps and deliver targeted coaching.
- Develop, update, and implement robust equipment maintenance training programs.
- Demonstrate the correct use of advanced diagnostic tools and specialized workshop equipment.
- Promote strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards across all workshop operations.
- Monitor and document trainees' progress while generating detailed assessment reports.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to diagnose recurring faults and enhance overall equipment reliability.
- Relevant technical qualification or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy-Duty Equipment Maintenance, or Diesel Mechanics.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in heavy-duty equipment maintenance within the mining, quarry, or construction sectors.
- Demonstrated expertise working with excavators, loaders, bulldozers, dump trucks, and graders.
- Proficient understanding of complex diesel engines, hydraulics, powertrains, and electrical systems.
- Prior experience in a training, instructional, senior mechanic, or workshop supervisory role is a distinct advantage.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and coaching abilities.
- Willingness and readiness to work on our active mining site located in Nasarawa State.
