About the Role
Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, a prominent leader in the Nigerian manufacturing and FMCG sector, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Assistant. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining a safety-first culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and preventing workplace incidents across our dynamic manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Identify potential workplace hazards, assess associated risks, and recommend robust control measures.
- Inspect and evaluate environments, equipment, and processes to ensure alignment with safety regulations.
- Assist in investigating incidents, accidents, and near misses to implement preventative solutions.
- Drive the successful implementation of various HSE leading programs and initiatives.
- Maintain accurate PPE issuance records and monitor proper usage of protective gear.
- Support compliance regarding environmental permits and hazardous waste disposal procedures.
- Coordinate timely and safe personnel evacuations during emergencies with the site response team.
- Manage comprehensive HSE documentation, including permits to work, risk assessments, and audit reports.
- OND in Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of cognate experience within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
- Relevant certifications such as HSE Levels 1, 2, and 3, NEBOSH IGC, or ISO 45001/14001.
- Proficiency in occupational health and safety risk management and process safety management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high integrity and teamwork.
