About the Role
Zamfara State Government is recruiting a dedicated Health Information Management Officer to join our healthcare administration team. This position plays a crucial role in managing, organizing, and maintaining patient health records while ensuring compliance with national health information standards and data protection regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and maintain comprehensive patient health records and documentation systems
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of all health information
- Implement and monitor health information management policies and procedures
- Coordinate with clinical and administrative departments to optimize record-keeping practices
- Perform shift duties and respond to emergency healthcare assignments as required
- Conduct regular audits of health records for quality assurance
- Train staff on proper documentation and record management protocols
- Support healthcare delivery through efficient information management systems
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma in Health Information Management from an accredited institution
- Valid Registration Certificate from the Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN)
- NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate (where applicable)
- Valid National Identification Number (NIN)
- Must be an indigene of Zamfara State
- Age between 18 and 40 years at application
- Medically and physically fit for employment
- No criminal record; never dismissed from public service
