About the Role

Neptune Microfinance Bank is on a mission to empower individuals and businesses through strategic financial intermediation across Nigeria. We are currently seeking an experienced, analytical, and visionary Head, Risk Management to lead our risk function. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating credit, operational, financial, and compliance risks, ensuring our continued stability and growth in the dynamic microfinance sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Constantly review and implement the Bank's risk management framework to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate operational, credit, financial, and compliance risks.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive risk reports to Management and the Board, highlighting key exposures and recommending appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Verify KYC documentation completed by Loan Officers and review all loan applications for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance prior to approval.
  • Ensure the adequacy, authenticity, and legal enforceability of all collateral submitted by borrowing customers.
  • Serve as Secretary to both the Management Credit Committee and the Portfolio Review Committee, ensuring proper documentation of meetings and resolutions.
  • Conduct thorough credit bureau searches on all loan applicants and monitor portfolio health to proactively manage delinquent or high-risk accounts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as ICAN, ACCA, CIBN, CRM, or other relevant qualifications will be a distinct advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Risk Management, Credit Administration, or Internal Control, ideally within a Microfinance Bank.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Deep understanding of microfinance banking operations, credit analysis, and Nigerian regulatory compliance frameworks.
