About the Role
NASD OTC is seeking a dynamic and analytical Head, Research & Commercial Strategy to lead our market intelligence and commercial initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will leverage deep financial research and market analysis to identify high-potential growth opportunities, improve the visibility of securities, and support issuer origination to drive sustainable revenue growth in the Nigerian capital market.
Key Responsibilities- Identify high-potential sectors, companies, and securities for admission, capital raising, and secondary-market trading activity.
- Develop comprehensive target lists and robust investment cases to empower the Business Development team.
- Produce actionable research, market intelligence, and standardised issuer profiles to enhance investor engagement.
- Track NASD market quality, liquidity metrics, bid-offer spreads, and active investor participation.
- Analyse the Commercial Paper market, identifying programmes, yields, and opportunities for secondary market development.
- Evaluate innovative commercial opportunities, including digital securities, private markets, and structured products.
- Monitor competitor exchanges, fintechs, and capital-market infrastructure locally and globally.
- Produce executive management dashboards connecting market activity directly to commercial outcomes and revenue.
- Support the MD/CEO with high-level strategic research, regulatory engagements, and major stakeholder meetings.
- Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related quantitative field.
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is strongly preferred.
- 8 to 12+ years of relevant experience in equity/fixed-income research, investment banking, asset management, or capital-market infrastructure.
- Deep understanding of the Nigerian capital markets, securities valuation, market structure, and investor behaviour.
- Exceptional quantitative and analytical capabilities with a proven commercial mindset.
