About the Role
Moniepoint is a leading financial technology company digitizing Africa's real economy by building a comprehensive financial ecosystem for businesses. We are currently looking for a strategic and technical Head, POS Hardware & Repair to ensure the highest quality, reliability, and serviceability of all Point of Sale hardware devices deployed across the Nigerian market.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the primary technical liaison with global POS hardware manufacturers, driving design reviews and component selection to meet rigorous company standards.
- Implement Design for Serviceability (DFS) strategies to simplify repairs, reduce component costs, and improve Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
- Analyze local environmental and logistical challenges in Nigeria to specify ruggedized, durable hardware solutions suitable for regional conditions.
- Oversight of internal and outsourced POS repair operations, ensuring strict adherence to standardized diagnostics, quality control protocols, and first-time fix rates.
- Partner with engineering and data teams to conduct failure analysis and translate insights into mandatory manufacturer design improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in hardware engineering, quality control, or technical operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
- Deep hands-on knowledge of embedded systems, electronic repair methodologies, and POS terminal hardware.
- Proven track record of managing technical relationships with international hardware manufacturers and optimizing repair operations.
- Direct experience with hardware deployment and service operations in the Nigerian or similar emerging markets is highly preferred.
