About the Role
Loma Bank is a dynamic digital-first microfinance bank founded in 2023 with corporate roots in Ekiti State, on a mission to deepen financial inclusion for underserved individuals and businesses across Nigeria. We are currently seeking a strategic, results-driven Head of Credit to lead our comprehensive credit function and maintain a healthy, profitable loan portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement the Bank's Credit Risk Management Framework, policies, and risk appetite in strict alignment with CBN Prudential Guidelines.
- Oversee the end-to-end credit lifecycle, including loan origination, underwriting, financial analysis, collateral valuation, and high-value approvals.
- Manage the overall loan portfolio performance, proactively identifying early warning signals and implementing robust recovery strategies to minimize Non-Performing Loans (NPLs).
- Ensure full regulatory compliance, including accurate CRMS reporting, GSI implementation, and adherence to KYC/AML standards.
- Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing credit and risk management team while fostering a strong risk-aware culture across the organization.
- Collaborate with executive management, business development, and technology teams to innovate digital lending products and support sustainable portfolio growth.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Banking, or a related field; a Master's degree or professional certifications (ACIB, CFA, ICAN) are preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in credit risk management, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role within a Nigerian commercial bank, microfinance bank, or fintech lender.
- Deep, practical knowledge of the CBN regulatory framework, credit scoring models, and loan portfolio analytics.
- Proven track record of managing sizable loan portfolios with exceptionally low NPL ratios and strong asset recovery performance.
