About the Role
Leadway Assurance Company Limited, a premier financial services provider in Nigeria, is seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Actuarial to lead our Life Business division. In this critical senior leadership role, you will provide high-level technical oversight for actuarial valuations, product pricing, reinsurance management, and asset-liability matching to drive our strategic business goals.
Key Responsibilities- Direct comprehensive actuarial valuations, including Gross Premium Valuation, Embedded Value calculations, and Value of New Business reporting.
- Spearhead Asset-Liability Management (ALM) strategies, investment recommendations, and economic capital modelling to maintain corporate solvency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, price, and review innovative life and health insurance products.
- Optimize reinsurance arrangements and continuously monitor pricing and valuation assumptions to mitigate business risks.
- Lead, mentor, and allocate work across a multi-tiered actuarial team spanning associates, analysts, trainees, and interns.
- Engage proactively with key internal stakeholders and external regulators such as NAICOM.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science or a related quantitative discipline from a recognized university.
- Successful completion of at least 8 professional actuarial exams.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience within an actuarial role, preferably within the life insurance sector.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, alongside robust financial modelling and data analytics capabilities.
