About the Role

Dragnet Solutions, a leading talent management and recruitment organisation, is recruiting on behalf of our esteemed healthcare client for a Head, Obgyn/Surgery in Kaduna. We are looking for a visionary medical leader to drive clinical excellence, strategic departmental growth, and superior patient-centred care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic clinical and administrative leadership for the obstetrics, gynaecology, and paediatrics departments.
  • Set, maintain, and audit rigorous standards of clinical care, patient safety, and clinical governance in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Organise medical staffing, duty rotas, clinics, and ward cover to ensure seamless continuity of care.
  • Lead the diagnosis and management of complex cases, offering expert senior clinical decision-making and referral oversight.
  • Supervise, mentor, appraise, and foster the professional development of consultants, medical officers, and trainees.
  • Collaborate effectively with diagnostics, pharmacy, nursing, and HMO/managed-care processes.
  • Contribute actively to service planning, resource allocation, and hospital-wide quality-improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS or MBChB) from a recognised institution.
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of post-fellowship specialist experience in the relevant medical discipline.
  • At least 2 years of proven experience in a departmental leadership, supervisory, or administrative role.
  • Strong expertise in obstetrics, gynaecology, and paediatrics practice across the complete patient pathway.
  • Thorough understanding of clinical governance, medical audit, and healthcare quality assurance.
  • Exceptional communication, supervisory, teaching, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
