About the Role

We are currently recruiting a strategic and results-driven Head, Financial Controller & Budgeting for our esteemed client in the industrial sector. Reporting directly to the Group Executive Director, Finance (GED-F), you will serve as the custodian of financial integrity across multiple subsidiaries in steel manufacturing, mining, and energy, ensuring robust financial discipline and IFRS compliance in the Nigerian market.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Group-wide monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, statutory audits, and multi-subsidiary financial consolidation.
- Drive the annual budgeting process, 3-5 year financial planning, rolling forecasts, and variance analysis across business units.
- Strengthen financial controls, standard costing, and cost-control frameworks to optimize production and operational expenses.
- Oversee capital expenditure (CAPEX) planning, post-investment reviews, and comprehensive fixed asset management.
- Optimize ERP utilization, specifically SAP or Oracle, to drive financial automation, data integration, and reporting accuracy.
- Partner with subsidiary finance leaders and the Executive Committee to deliver actionable financial insights and strategic recommendations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Mandatory professional certification: ACA (ICAN) or ACCA; CIMA and an MBA are distinct advantages.
- 12 to 16 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior Financial Controller or reporting role within a conglomerate or holding company.
- Hands-on cost accounting expertise within heavy industry, manufacturing, steel, mining, or similar sectors.
- Demonstrated mastery of IFRS standards and advanced proficiency in ERP systems like SAP FI/CO or Oracle Financials.
