About the Role
Unified Payment Services Limited (UP®) is Nigeria’s premier Payments & Financial Technology company founded in 1997. We operate as a shared infrastructure for the banking community and are dedicated to delivering secure, efficient, and innovative e-payment services across Africa. We are looking for a dynamic Head, Domestic Switching & Terminal Operations to lead our mission-critical operations.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee end-to-end domestic transaction switching, routing, and authorization across POS, web, mobile, and ATM channels.
- Supervise POS terminal lifecycle management, deployment, maintenance, and merchant satisfaction.
- Manage accurate daily settlements, reconciliations, chargebacks, and dispute resolutions with partner banks.
- Ensure strict regulatory compliance with CBN, NIBSS, and card scheme standards to mitigate fraud and risk.
- Collaborate with IT to optimize switching architecture, APIs, and implement process automation.
- Lead, mentor, and build capacity within the Switching and Terminal Operations team.
- Engage key stakeholders including NIBSS, partner banks, and international card schemes to ensure seamless operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field (Master’s or MBA is an added advantage).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in payment operations, electronic banking, or switching.
- At least 3 years in a senior leadership role within a fintech or Payment Service Provider (PSP) environment.
- Extensive knowledge of CBN, NIBSS, and card scheme regulations and compliance standards.
- Proven track record in managing transaction switching, POS terminal operations, and automated reconciliations.
