About the Role

HR-EX Consulting is partnering with a dynamic growth business to recruit an experienced Head, Commercial Finance and Procurement. In this strategic leadership capacity, you will ensure that business expansion translates directly into sustainable profit and healthy cash flow. You will focus heavily on the economics of growth, driving margin optimisation, landed cost management, procurement performance, and inventory efficiency to protect and enhance the bottom line.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own unit economics across products, projects, channels, and major transactions to provide clear contribution and profitability views.
  • Conduct gross-to-net revenue analysis, quantifying the impact of discounts, rebates, commissions, and logistics on realised margins.
  • Establish and monitor commercial margin floors alongside leadership, actively escalating transactions that erode value.
  • Analyse landed costs by SKU and shipment, incorporating supplier pricing, foreign exchange fluctuations, freight, duties, and clearing fees.
  • Optimise supplier and procurement economics, focusing on payment terms, volume breaks, and overall trade-offs.
  • Drive inventory efficiency by managing stock turns, ageing, dead stock, and capital allocation toward high-return SKUs.
  • Produce recurring profitability reports by transaction, SKU, category, and business unit, paired with actionable management recommendations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of professional experience in commercial finance, FP&A, procurement finance, or supply-chain finance.
  • Possession of a professional finance qualification is an added advantage, though demonstrated commercial impact is paramount.
  • Expertise in unit economics, pricing strategies, landed cost modelling, working capital management, and profitability analysis.
  • Strong background in import-heavy, inventory-intensive, or project-based operational environments.
  • Advanced analytical and financial modelling skills with the ability to translate complex data into commercial decisions.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing capabilities across sales, procurement, operations, and finance teams.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary and performance-based incentives aligned with value creation.
  • Opportunity to shape the strategic financial direction of a fast-growing enterprise.
  • Collaborative and impact-driven work culture valuing innovation and excellence.
