About the Role
Eastern Plains Integrated Farms Limited (EPIFL) is a leading integrated agribusiness enterprise based in Igbariam, Anambra State, Nigeria, specializing in large-scale poultry production to meet the growing protein demands of Nigerian households and businesses. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Head, Chicken Processing Plant to provide comprehensive strategic and operational leadership across our state-of-the-art facility. In this critical role, you will champion production performance, rigorous food safety standards, maintenance effectiveness, and overall plant profitability while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end plant operations covering slaughtering, defeathering, evisceration, chilling, cut-up, packaging, storage, and dispatch.
- Develop and execute operational strategies to consistently achieve production targets, strict schedules, and customer requirements.
- Drive yield enhancement, waste reduction, high throughput, and cost optimization across all processing units.
- Provide visionary leadership to Production, Quality Assurance, Engineering and Maintenance, Cold Chain, Warehouse, and Dispatch teams.
- Ensure uncompromising compliance with HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, biosecurity standards, and all relevant Nigerian regulatory requirements.
- Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, equipment reliability, and plant capital projects.
- Manage complex cold-chain logistics, maintain inventory accuracy, and guarantee product integrity through distribution.
- Develop and manage comprehensive plant budgets, monitor operating expenses, and implement targeted cost-reduction initiatives.
- Analyze operational metrics and generate detailed reports on yield, quality, safety, and financial performance for executive management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Food Technology, Poultry Science, Agriculture, Food Science and Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in poultry processing or food manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior plant leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale chicken processing operations, multi-departmental teams, and substantial operational budgets.
- Comprehensive expertise in food safety management systems, poultry processing technologies, HACCP, and GMP frameworks.
- Professional certifications in HACCP, GMP, Food Safety Management, or Poultry Meat Processing will be a distinct advantage.
