About the Role
Moniepoint is a leading financial technology company digitising Africa’s real economy by building a comprehensive financial ecosystem for businesses. We are seeking a dedicated Hardware Engineer to join our repair centre, serving as the technical authority bridging hands-on repair operations with engineering-level quality governance. In this role, you will ensure that every payment terminal leaving our facility is fully optimized for redeployment, while continuously elevating technician capabilities and eliminating quality defects.
Key Responsibilities- Design electronic hardware circuits and create precision printed circuit board (PCB) layouts compliant with strict specifications.
- Develop, maintain, and update bills of materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation for hardware products.
- Establish standard operating procedures and training frameworks to elevate repair technician competency.
- Conduct rigorous testing of hardware products, recommending design modifications based on operational evaluations.
- Perform root-cause analysis on hardware failures to eliminate recurring defects and improve processing efficiency.
- Maintain detailed records of repair processes, diagnostic results, and inventory discrepancies.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, repair technicians, and operational leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in electronic hardware design, circuit troubleshooting, or terminal repair.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency in hardware testing tools, diagnostic equipment, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
