About the Role

We are currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Guidance Counsellor to join our dynamic team and help guide our students toward achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive academic, career, and personal counselling to students across the High School levels.
  • Assist students with university and career planning, including preparation for local and international examinations such as WASSCE and IGCSE.
  • Develop and implement guidance programs that promote positive student behavior, mental health, and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, school administrators, and parents to identify and address individual student learning needs or behavioral challenges.
  • Maintain confidential student records and monitor academic progress regularly to offer timely interventions.
  • Organize workshops, career days, and seminars focused on personal development, study skills, and moral values in alignment with the school's vision.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education (B.Sc. Ed, B.A. Ed, or B.Ed.) in Guidance and Counselling or a related discipline.
  • At least five (5) years of relevant professional experience working as a Guidance Counsellor or Senior Teacher within a secondary school setting up to WASSCE level.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with international curricula, specifically the ability to support students preparing for IGCSE examinations.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills with a compassionate and approachable demeanor.
  • Must share and embody the Christian values and God-fearing ethos of Canterbury International Schools.
