Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counselling sessions to students regarding academic, personal, social, and career matters.
  • Design and implement career guidance programs, workshops, and seminars to prepare students for the healthcare workforce.
  • Identify students experiencing psychological, emotional, or academic distress and offer effective intervention strategies.
  • Maintain confidential student records and track progress while adhering to professional ethics and institutional policies.
  • Collaborate closely with academic faculty, department heads, and administration to support student retention and success.
  • Organize orientation programs for new students to help them adjust to campus life at our Ado-Ekiti institution.

Qualifications
  • Possess a B.Ed. or B.Sc. in Guidance and Counselling, Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a closely related field.
  • Relevant professional certification or active registration with a recognized counselling body will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrate 2 to 3 years of proven counselling experience, preferably within a tertiary or secondary educational institution.
  • Possess a strong understanding of student development theories, career counselling techniques, and psychosocial support frameworks.
  • Display exceptional communication, active listening, empathy, and interpersonal skills to build rapport with diverse student populations.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment in sensitive situations.
