About the Role
Promasidor is a pioneering African food manufacturer dedicated to providing affordable, high-quality, and nutritious products to millions across the continent. We are currently seeking dynamic and experienced Group R&D Specialists to drive our innovation agenda across Beverages, Culinary, Dairy, and Extrusions (Cereals and Snacks). In this pivotal role, you will lead the end-to-end R&D agenda for your category portfolio, acting as the technical authority and shaping our future product landscape across all operating markets.
Key Responsibilities- Define and manage the multi-year R&D plan for the category, aligning with commercial and brand innovation priorities.
- Lead end-to-end New Product Development (NPD) from concept through formulation, lab trials, factory scale-up, and commercial launch.
- Ensure all category products comply with rigorous food safety standards and regional regulatory requirements like NAFDAC and SON.
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Operations to drive seamless product delivery and alternative sourcing.
- Build and mentor a high-performing category R&D team, fostering continuous technical excellence and strong succession planning.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science and Technology, Food Engineering, Chemistry, Nutrition, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
- 8 to 10 years of progressive R&D experience within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, focusing on a specialist category.
- Demonstrated hands-on expertise in flavour development and advanced stage-gate project management disciplines.
