About the Role
Bridgemead Consulting, an innovative business consultancy connecting organizations with top-tier talent, is recruiting a strategic Group Head, Tax, Risk & Compliance for our client in the steel manufacturing, mining, and energy sectors. Reporting directly to the Group Executive Director, Finance, this leadership role is responsible for driving tax efficiency, enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance across multiple subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute the Group tax strategy, ensuring full compliance with Nigerian and international tax laws while optimizing corporate income tax, VAT, WHT, transfer pricing, and statutory incentives.
- Design and continuously improve the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework aligned with ISO 31000/COSO standards, overseeing risk registers, business continuity, and crisis management.
- Ensure regulatory compliance across complex operations, maintaining seamless relationships with authorities such as FIRS, NUPRC, NERC, SEC, and the Ministry of Mines.
- Oversee transfer pricing compliance, Country-by-Country Reporting, and sector-specific incentives including pioneer status and free zone advantages.
- Manage the Group insurance portfolio, policy renewals, risk financing, and claims optimization.
- Provide expert advisory to Executive Management and the Board, preparing comprehensive risk dashboards, tax papers, and governance updates.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Tax, Risk, and Compliance team across all subsidiaries.
- Bachelor's Degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, or Economics (minimum Second Class Upper); a Master's degree is a distinct advantage.
- Mandatory professional qualifications such as CITN, ACA, ACCA, or IRM, with additional compliance certifications (ICA, CAMS) preferred.
- 12 to 18 years of progressive experience in tax, ERM, and compliance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within manufacturing, mining, energy, or industrial conglomerates.
