About the Role
The Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, is seeking a diligent and skilled Greaser to join our maintenance team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this vital role, you will be responsible for carrying out lubrication and routine maintenance activities on plant equipment to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and longevity of our heavy machinery.
Key Responsibilities- Perform scheduled lubrication of pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, compressors, fans, and bearings in accordance with established schedules.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment lubrication points to identify abnormal conditions such as overheating, excessive vibration, or leakage.
- Monitor lubricant levels, grease consumption, and oil conditions to prevent unexpected equipment failure.
- Assist maintenance technicians and supervisors in executing preventive maintenance activities.
- Maintain cleanliness of lubrication equipment, tools, lubricant storage areas, and work locations while adhering to safety regulations.
- Accurately document lubrication activities, lubricant consumption, equipment conditions, and inspection findings.
- Comply with Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures.
- Trade Test Grade I and II in Mechanical Fitting, Maintenance, Millwright, or a related engineering trade, or an SSCE / NBTEC certificate.
- Minimum of three (3) years of industrial experience in equipment lubrication, mechanical maintenance, or plant operations within manufacturing, cement, oil and gas, or heavy industries.
- Sound knowledge of industrial lubricants, greases, oils, and lubrication systems.
- Strong understanding of rotating equipment and bearing lubrication requirements.
- Ability to operate grease guns, oil dispensing equipment, and lubrication tools effectively.
