About the Role
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is an independent, humanitarian, non-profit organization providing assistance, protection, and durable solutions to refugees and internally displaced persons worldwide. In Nigeria, we are currently looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Grants Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Abuja. In this role, you will support the Grants Manager in ensuring high-quality programme delivery through effective grant management processes across NRC's operations in Nigeria. You will work closely with budget holders to ensure strict donor compliance, contribute to the timely development of compelling donor reports and proposals, and foster a strong internal culture of accountability, learning, and high performance.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain comprehensive oversight of all grants, donor requirements, compliance rules, regulations, and internal or external deadlines.
- Contribute to the development, review, and timely submission of high-quality donor applications, concept notes, proposals, budgets, and reports.
- Monitor and track relevant calls for proposals while keeping teams updated on donor priorities and emerging humanitarian trends.
- Act as an internal helpdesk on donor-related issues and deliver targeted training sessions on donor rules, regulations, and writing skills.
- Support the implementation of NRC's Project Cycle Management (PCM) framework, ensuring grant opening, mid-term, and closing meetings are effectively conducted.
- Maintain well-organized physical and digital filing systems for all active and past grants, ensuring audit readiness at all times.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to support external donor audits and represent NRC to partners and donors as delegated.
- Relevant University Degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in grants management within the humanitarian or development sector.
- Demonstrated experience working with major humanitarian and development donors with a solid understanding of their rules and regulations.
- Proven skills and practical experience in successful grant proposal writing and detailed reporting.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and coordination skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in standard office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
