About the Role
Action Against Hunger | ACF Nigeria LTD/GTE is a global humanitarian organization committed to ending world hunger and saving the lives of malnourished children. We are currently seeking qualified Field Monitors to join our dynamic team in Damasak, Borno State. In this vital role, you will support our Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) and program teams by ensuring the accurate collection of qualitative and quantitative data. You will supervise enumerators, oversee field activities such as beneficiary registration and household surveys, and uphold our commitment to accountability and transparency.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise daily field activities of enumerators and coordinate team movements to meet established data collection thresholds.
- Conduct routine monitoring, spot checks, and validation of respondents to ensure high data quality and adherence to survey methodologies.
- Perform accurate quantitative and qualitative data collection using paper and mobile data collection tools.
- Provide live translation, interpretation, and transcription of interviews in English and local languages.
- Implement accountability frameworks by monitoring field activities, verifying beneficiary entitlements, and reporting complaints to the appropriate unit.
- Maintain professionalism and flexibility while adapting to dynamic humanitarian and operational environments.
- Minimum of a Diploma in Sciences, Social Sciences, or any other relevant field.
- Proven professional experience in supervising field data collection and conducting surveys.
- Fluency in English and essential local languages including Hausa, Kanuri, Shuwa, and Fulani.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and team management skills with basic computer literacy.
- Demonstrated understanding of local community dynamics, cultural nuances, and NGO operations.
