About the Role
Dabitos Schools, a reputable private, co-educational learning institution located in Ilasamaja, Mushin, Lagos, Nigeria, is seeking a passionate and qualified Government Teacher. Our institution provides comprehensive education from crèche through secondary school levels, fostering academic excellence and moral uprightness. We are looking for an inspiring educator who can make the study of government and civic engagement come alive for our secondary school students, preparing them for external examinations and active, informed citizenship.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and interactive lessons in Government for secondary school students in alignment with the Nigerian educational curriculum.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate academic records.
- Prepare students effectively for internal assessments as well as key external examinations such as WAEC, NECO, and BECE.
- Foster a disciplined, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and active participation.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and school administration to organize extracurricular activities, debates, and civic awareness programs.
- Maintain regular and professional communication with parents regarding student academic performance and behavioral development.
- Possess a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Education (B.Ed), Political Science, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant teaching certification (such as TRCN registration) is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of proven teaching experience handling Government at the secondary school level.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with a strong passion for youth mentorship.
- Deep understanding of the Nigerian secondary school curriculum and current educational standards.
- Must reside within Mushin, Ilasamaja, or easily accessible environs in Lagos State.
