About the Role
China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) Nigeria Limited is seeking a dedicated and skilled Geologist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our nationwide infrastructure development projects by evaluating soil, rock, and groundwater conditions to ensure structural safety and project success. You will work closely with our engineering teams to provide essential geological insights from the initial survey phase through to construction completion.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive geological field investigations and surveys to determine soil, rock, and groundwater conditions.
- Analyze soil and rock samples accurately to assess site suitability for major construction projects.
- Prepare detailed geological reports and actionable recommendations based on empirical findings.
- Monitor active geological conditions during construction phases to guarantee optimal safety and stability.
- Collaborate closely with civil engineers to integrate geological insights into design and construction decisions.
- Identify potential geological risks and hazards to ensure they are fully mitigated during the design process.
- Bachelor's degree in Geology with 2 to 3 years of practical experience in geological surveys and rigorous fieldwork.
- Proficiency in standard geological software, field tools, and advanced data analysis techniques.
- Strong working knowledge of soil mechanics, rock formation characteristics, and groundwater behavior.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in both field and office environments, occasionally under challenging physical conditions.
- Exceptional technical writing abilities for producing clear, comprehensive geological reports.
- Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and effective interpersonal communication abilities.
