About the Role
MTN Nigeria is looking for a strategic and visionary General Manager - Regulatory Affairs, Corporate Services and Sustainability to drive proactive, future-facing regulatory strategies and policy advocacy. In this vital leadership role, you will shape the regulatory landscape for Nigeria's evolving digital economy, ensuring seamless alignment with corporate goals, telecommunications developments, and emerging technologies.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs the General Manager, you will provide high-level technical leadership and establish the strategic direction for the regulatory affairs function. Your core duties include:
- Overseeing compliance with interconnect, spectrum leasing, national roaming, virtual network operator, and active network sharing agreements.
- Leading regulatory analysis and advocacy on data privacy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, cloud services, and satellite communications.
- Providing business-enablement advice for API-based products, Open Gateway initiatives, and digital ecosystem models.
- Conducting cross-functional regulatory impact assessments for new products, technologies, and strategic investments.
- Negotiating complex interconnect, capacity leasing, and infrastructure-sharing contracts with industry players.
To qualify for this executive role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Possession of an LLB, another recognized law degree, or a first degree in a relevant discipline.
- An MBA or Master's in Law (LLM) will be a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of 12 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years in a senior management track record within a relevant industry.
- Demonstrated experience in a global or multinational enterprise, commercial legal environment, or regulatory control body.
- Extensive exposure to emerging digital economy regulations, government relations, and cross-functional executive stakeholder engagement.
