About the Role

Adexen is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager - Marine Works Division to lead our client's growing marine construction business unit in Lagos, Nigeria. In this executive leadership role, you will spearhead high-profile marine infrastructure projects, including the critical Lagos Port rehabilitation, while driving the division's overall strategic, commercial, and operational success across West Africa.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Marine Works Division as a high-performing business unit, defining operating models and performance standards.
  • Oversee large-scale marine infrastructure projects like port rehabilitation, quay walls, jetties, dredging, and coastal protection.
  • Manage financial performance, budgets, cost control, commercial strategy, tenders, and project profitability.
  • Act as the senior company representative with clients, port authorities, government agencies, and engineering partners.
  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering and project teams, fostering a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure strict compliance with HSE standards, environmental regulations, and international marine construction practices.
Qualifications
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, Coastal Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in civil engineering, marine construction, or major port development projects.
  • Proven executive track record as a General Manager, Operations Director, or Project Director in emerging markets.
  • Strong technical expertise in marine works execution, construction methodologies, risk management, and project tools.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, commercial acumen, and cross-cultural leadership skills.
  • Professional engineering certification or PMP qualification is a distinct advantage.
