About the Role

Agbeyewa Farms is a world-class agribusiness with farm operations in Ekiti State, Nigeria, driven by a vision to expand across Africa, create decent jobs, empower local communities, and become a global leader in sustainable agribusiness. We are currently seeking an accomplished and dynamic General Manager to provide executive leadership and strategic oversight for our cassava starch processing plant, ensuring world-class standards in efficiency, safety, and product quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and coordination of all plant operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe production activities.
  • Align Production, QA, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Commercial, Finance, Security, and People teams toward common operational goals.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality standards, safety practices, and process discipline across the factory.
  • Drive operational efficiency through proper planning, supervision, and resource utilization to minimize waste and control costs.
  • Oversee production planning to ensure optimal plant capacity utilization and minimal downtime.
  • Strengthen coordination between commercial demand and production output to prevent overproduction and stock aging.
  • Maintain strong oversight of maintenance practices to guarantee equipment reliability and uninterrupted production cycles.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement across all operational departments.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Food Technology, or a related field; an MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is a distinct advantage.
  • Minimum of 12 to 15 years of progressive experience in FMCG, food processing, agro-processing, or industrial manufacturing environments.
  • At least 7 years in a senior operational leadership role successfully managing large-scale factory or plant operations.
  • Strong command of production processes, quality assurance standards, preventive maintenance systems, and supply chain coordination.
  • Proven ability to lead diverse, cross-functional teams and manage shift-based operations within a high-performance manufacturing environment.
  • Exceptional operational planning, cost control, decision-making, and organizational skills.
