About the Role
Persianas Retail Limited is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented General Ledger Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Nigeria. In this role, you will maintain accurate financial records through proper general ledger postings, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial data analysis to support our growing retail operations.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations for all company accounts, promptly resolving any discrepancies.
- Reconcile retail store and e-commerce revenue against POS, bank deposits, and ERP records to ensure accurate revenue recognition.
- Record and validate journal entries, perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and support the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Conduct variance analysis on key P&L and balance sheet items, providing actionable financial insights for budgeting and forecasting.
- Maintain an audit-ready general ledger while actively participating in internal and external audit processes.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualification (ICAN or ACCA) completed or in the final stage.
- 4 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience, specifically within general ledger or financial reporting.
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS standards and internal financial controls.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Sage, or ZohoBooks.
