Key Responsibilities- Perform daily grounds maintenance tasks including mowing lawns, trimming hedges, weeding flower beds, and pruning trees and shrubs.
- Plant and care for new flowers, trees, shrubs, and lawns to enhance the visual appeal of the university campus.
- Operate, maintain, and safely store gardening tools, equipment, and machinery such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers.
- Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other plant care products responsibly to promote healthy plant growth while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Maintain clean walkways, paths, and parking areas by clearing away fallen leaves, litter, and debris.
- Assist with campus landscaping projects, drainage maintenance, and outdoor event setups as required by the university management.
- Proven practical experience in professional gardening, landscaping, grounds maintenance, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated ability to handle gardening tools and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Good knowledge of plant care, soil health, pest control, and general horticulture.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively with other campus maintenance staff.
- Relevant vocational training or certifications in agriculture, horticulture, or landscaping will be an added advantage.
