About the Role

The British Council is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional for the role of FP&A CoE Staff Costs Senior Analyst. In this position, you will provide high-quality staff cost reporting, reconciliations, and modelling support to underpin workforce planning across our global operations. You will act as a key data partner to business decision support teams, regional finance, and HR, ensuring accuracy and alignment with corporate standards in Nigeria and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support staff costs planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes using driver-based models for workforce movements and pay inflation.
  • Maintain oversight of staff cost data quality, ensuring consistency across SAP, Anaplan, and consolidated reporting tools.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support business cases, structural changes, and operating model designs.
  • Collaborate with the People Function to model changes in pay frameworks, benefits, compensation structures, and tax implications.
  • Translate complex financial datasets into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to data governance protocols, standard CoE processes, and workforce-related master data structures.
Qualifications
  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) is highly desirable.
  • 2 to 4 years of significant experience in financial data analysis, FP&A, or management accounting.
  • Demonstrated capability in financial modelling, forecasting, and analytics using platforms like Anaplan and SAP.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate complex data clearly in a matrix environment.
  • Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English, with legal right to work in Nigeria.
