About the Role
Sweet Nation Foods, makers of World of Popcorn and Treats, is looking for a dedicated Fleet Officer to oversee our vehicle operations. In this role, you will ensure our delivery vans and operational vehicles are fully roadworthy, efficiently utilized, and compliant with Nigerian traffic regulations to support our nationwide snack distribution.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain an up-to-date register of all Company vehicles, including documentation, insurance, and licensing status.
- Schedule and track routine vehicle maintenance, servicing, and emergency repairs.
- Monitor fuel consumption, mileage, and vehicle usage logs across various distribution routes.
- Ensure drivers comply with the Company Fleet Vehicle Use Policy and relevant traffic laws.
- Coordinate vehicle allocation for Van Sales Reps, Sales and Merchandising teams, and farm operations.
- Investigate and report vehicle incidents, accidents, or policy breaches promptly.
- Liaise with external vendors, mechanics, and insurance providers on vehicle-related matters.
- Maintain accurate fleet cost and maintenance records for comprehensive management reporting.
- Support driver recruitment, onboarding, and periodic performance evaluations.
- HND or BSc in Transport Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in fleet, logistics, or transport management, preferably within the FMCG or food production industry.
- Sound knowledge of vehicle maintenance scheduling and statutory fleet documentation.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and strong understanding of Nigerian road traffic regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern fleet record-keeping tools.
- Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to travel as required to inspect vehicles and coordinate with regional operations.
