About the Role
Scruples Resources, a leading consultancy and human resource development firm in Nigeria, is seeking a vigilant and safety-conscious professional to join our team as a Fire-watch/Safety Services II specialist. In this critical role, you will play an essential part in safeguarding personnel, assets, and project sites by actively monitoring hazardous operations and maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor all hot-work areas continuously for ignition sources, flying sparks, smoke, and any developing unsafe conditions.
- Maintain readiness and proper placement of required firefighting equipment and clear emergency access routes within the designated work area.
- Conduct continuous post-work monitoring in designated areas during and after hot-work operations as mandated by site safety protocols.
- Halt immediately or escalate unsafe activities in accordance with established site authority guidelines and emergency procedures.
- Participate actively in daily toolbox talks, mandatory emergency drills, and routine safety observations.
- Accurately record all fire-watch activities and promptly report any safety incidents, hazards, or near misses to management.
- Possess a relevant degree, HND, OND, trade qualification, or a recognized professional safety certification.
- Demonstrated practical experience in industrial, construction, oil and gas, marine, or engineering project environments is preferred.
- Formal fire-watch training, basic firefighting knowledge, and emergency-response competence.
- Exceptional observation skills, strong verbal communication abilities, and the capacity to remain alert for extended periods.
- Ability to obtain and maintain role-specific statutory, technical, offshore, or professional certifications as required by clients and industry standards.
