About the Role
Sahara Group is a leading international energy conglomerate with operations spanning the power, downstream, midstream, and upstream sectors. We are currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Financial Reporting Manager to join our finance team in Nigeria. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the highest standards of financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and strategic reporting as we continue to expand our footprint in the global energy landscape.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the preparation of periodic financial statements in strict compliance with IFRS and local statutory requirements.
- Manage external audits, regulatory compliance, and tax obligations within the Nigerian oil and gas regulatory framework.
- Direct Joint Venture (JV) reporting, partner reconciliations, cost recovery processes, and adherence to Joint Operating Agreements (JOAs).
- Collaborate with commercial, engineering, and asset teams to ensure accurate financial and operational reporting.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of finance and accounting professionals.
- Drive continuous improvement by optimizing ERP systems like Oracle and Sun Systems to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Must be a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA).
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in financial reporting and auditing, with at least 5 years specifically within the oil and gas or energy sector.
- In-depth knowledge of upstream oil and gas accounting, IFRS, and Nigerian tax laws.
- Proficiency in financial systems such as ORACLE Accounting Systems and Sun Systems.
