About the Role
Prodigy Microfinance Bank was founded in 2023 with a mission to help people achieve their financial goals through fair and affordable financial services. We are currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Financial Controller to manage our financial activities, ensure robust compliance, and drive strategic business expansion from our Nigerian operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the annual budgeting process and provide accurate monthly and quarterly rolling forecasts.
- Prepare comprehensive, timely financial statements and present actionable financial insights to the executive team.
- Analyze market trends and competitor data to identify lucrative opportunities for business expansion and cost-saving.
- Ensure strict compliance with local and federal regulations while maintaining robust internal controls.
- Oversee accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable teams while fostering a culture of professional development.
- Monitor liquidity, manage investment strategies, and optimize company capital through effective cash flow management.
- Develop and enhance internal reporting processes and long-term financial plans aligned with corporate objectives.
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of Second Class Upper (2:1) in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6+ years of continuous finance experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial position within the banking or financial sector.
- Must be currently employed within a financial or banking institution.
- Relevant professional qualification such as ICAN or ACCA is mandatory.
- Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and proficiency in BankOne Accounting Software are distinct advantages.
- Advanced business acumen, exceptional financial modeling skills, and proven data-driven problem-solving abilities.
