About the Role
TeamAce Limited is seeking a responsible, experienced, and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee end-to-end financial reporting integrity and manage the month-end close process across the group. In this pivotal role, you will lead close planning and execution, ensure reconciliations and financial schedules are completed accurately, prepare management accounts and performance commentary, and maintain strict accounting policies and reporting standards to support our continuous business growth in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Own the month-end close calendar and checklist, coordinating dependencies across finance teams and business units.
- Review and sign off key reconciliations, balance sheet schedules, and trial balance discipline.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including business unit-level profit and loss statements and key group views with clear variance commentary.
- Own accounting policies, technical accounting positions, and maintain the Chart of Accounts and cost centre mapping.
- Deliver financial performance analysis, gross margin bridges, and actionable recommendations for business unit leaders.
- Maintain audit readiness, manage the Prepared By Client tracker, and partner with internal control and external advisers.
- Collaborate with technology teams to ensure finance-impacting systems like ERP, POS, and payment gateways produce reliable, high-integrity data.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting, with demonstrable month-end close leadership and audit experience.
- Experience in operationally complex environments such as retail, ecommerce, FMCG distribution, or manufacturing is an advantage.
- Hands-on expertise with ERP-led reporting, multi-source reconciliations, and spreadsheet modeling.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge covering cut-off, accruals, provisions, inventory, and revenue recognition.
