About the Role

Zeus Microfinance Bank is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria to provide comprehensive financial services, including savings, deposits, loans, and domestic funds transfer to microfinance clients in Abuja and its environs. We are currently seeking a strategic and analytical Financial Controller to ensure the optimal allocation of the bank's resources, maintain accurate financial records, and mitigate financial and regulatory risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and submission of CBN and NDIC monthly rendition returns.
  • Preparation and presentation of monthly management accounts to the board through the MD/CEO.
  • Leading budget preparation, budgetary control, and effective implementation.
  • Managing investments and bank funds to optimize liquidity position and performance.
  • Serving as the chief driver of the weekly Asset and Liabilities Management committee meeting.
  • Preparing and presenting the Monthly Performance Review report.
  • Handling treasury and liquidity management operations.
  • Remitting statutory deductions monthly, including PAYE, WHT, and VAT.
  • Authorizing vendor payments and staff payroll processing.
  • Conducting weekly reviews of bank reconciliation statements.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the MD/CEO and Board.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting certification such as ACA, ACCA, or CPA is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of cognate finance experience, preferably within the Nigerian microfinance banking or financial services sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of CBN and NDIC regulatory frameworks and reporting standards.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and treasury management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
