About the Role
Optimus Bank, a CBN-licensed National Bank operating under Nigerian federal law, seeks a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to strengthen its Finance unit. This position is pivotal in ensuring regulatory compliance, accurate financial reporting, and optimal capital management across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and submit all statutory financial renditions (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual) in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Support monthly tax computations including current and deferred tax calculations, reconciliations, and liaise with tax consultants on planning, compliance, transfer pricing, withholding taxes, and PAYE matters
- Assist in developing and updating accounting policies aligned with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Manage capital planning and forecasting to optimize capital structure and monitor tier I and II capital adequacy levels
- Coordinate with rating agencies on annual bank rating exercises and maintain stakeholder relationships
- Prepare account proofs and supporting documentation as directed by the CFO
- Support external audit and regulatory review processes coordination
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline
- 4–5 years' experience in financial reporting, accounting, or financial analysis
- Demonstrated expertise preparing financial and management reports
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency with strong analytical capabilities
- Excellent reconciliation skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication abilities and financial presentation skills
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
