About the Role
Petrogap Oil and Gas Limited is a wholly indigenous, ISO 9001:2008 certified company operating across the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors of the Nigerian oil and gas industry. We are currently seeking a dedicated and analytical Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Lagos. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, driving financial reporting excellence, and ensuring strict adherence to regulatory compliance standards while supporting our strategic business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor cash flow, prepare payment schedules, and maintain strong relationships with banking partners.
- Support comprehensive treasury activities and accurate cash flow forecasting.
- Prepare timely monthly management accounts and IFRS-compliant financial statements.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and thorough general ledger reviews.
- Ensure prompt computation and remittance of statutory taxes including VAT, PAYE, WHT, and CIT, alongside pension contributions.
- Liaise effectively with external auditors, tax authorities, and relevant industry regulators.
- Assist with annual budgeting, fixed asset management, and the strengthening of internal financial controls.
- Bachelor’s Degree (First Class or Second Class Upper) in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 to 4 years of professional accounting experience with solid exposure to treasury management and financial reporting.
- Active ACA or ACCA professional qualification is strictly required.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel and other Microsoft Office productivity tools.
- Demonstrated strength in analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving.
- Prior working experience within the Oil and Gas sector will be a distinct advantage.
