About the Role
Majeurs Chesterfield is a premium furniture retailer dedicated to delivering stunning design choices and exceptional collections for homes and offices. We are seeking an experienced Finance Officer/Accountant to join our team and manage our financial operations with integrity and precision.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, invoicing, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial statements, budgets, and cash flow forecasts
- Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable processes
- Oversee vendor payments and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Ensure compliance with tax obligations including VAT, PAYE, and WHT requirements
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and tax authorities as needed
- Support inventory valuation and cost management for production and sales divisions
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic business decisions
- Implement and maintain robust accounting controls and financial systems
- Bachelor's degree (B.Sc) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- ICAN or ACCA certification (or currently pursuing) strongly preferred
- 4–6 years of proven accounting experience, ideally in retail, manufacturing, or FMCG sectors
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Zoho Books
- Expert-level Excel skills with strong data analysis capabilities
- Exceptional analytical ability, integrity, and meticulous attention to detail
- Proven ability to work independently and consistently meet strict deadlines
