About the Role
The New Foundation for Displaced Persons (NFDP) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Finance Officer to manage day-to-day financial operations in Maiduguri, Borno State, with field support duties. In this role, you will ensure accurate bookkeeping, robust budget control, and full compliance with organizational and donor policies to support impactful humanitarian interventions.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate books of accounts, process payments, and manage cash and bank transactions including monthly reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly Budget vs Actual (BvA) analyses, track expenditures, and support programme teams in budget forecasting.
- Ensure full compliance with Nigerian financial laws and donor regulations, preparing accurate financial reports for audits and verifications.
- Review procurement requests, verify vendor invoices, and ensure timely deduction and remittance of statutory taxes.
- Provide training and capacity support to field staff on financial procedures, expense retirements, and compliance.
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional finance experience within an NGO or humanitarian sector.
- Proven working knowledge of QuickBooks, Advanced MS Excel, and Nigerian tax laws.
- Familiarity with international donor requirements and working knowledge of the Borno context is highly desirable.
- High level of integrity, strong attention to detail, and commitment to humanitarian safeguarding principles.
