About the Role
Good Neighbours Microfinance Bank is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria to render financial services to Nigerians in accordance with CBN policy. We have tirelessly set the pace for other microfinance institutions through distinguished service quality, product functionality, and exceptional customer service. We are currently seeking a dedicated Finance Officer to join our growing finance team and contribute to our continued success and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Process outward transactions for the bank accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure daily posting of transactions and perform weekly bank reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports and annual budgets.
- Remit statutory deductions to various regulatory bodies promptly.
- Review invoices, receipts, and other supporting documents to verify transaction accuracy.
- Prepare general ledger proofs for the month-end close.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, reporting variances to the Head of Finance while identifying areas for improvement.
- Conduct monthly reviews and process the payroll schedule.
- Assist with preparations for external audits and regulatory examinations by the CBN and NDIC.
- Ensure strict compliance with financial guidelines, company policies, and relevant legal regulations.
- Undertake any additional duties as directed by the Head of Finance.
- HND or BSc in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience working in a microfinance bank or financial institution.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant banking regulations and regulatory requirements in Nigeria.
- Professional accounting certification is highly desirable and considered an added advantage.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
