About the Role
AjoCard Limited is a pioneering financial technology company dedicated to driving financial inclusion by making banking accessible, secure, and convenient for the underserved and unbanked across Nigeria. We are currently seeking a dynamic and analytical Finance Manager - MFB to lead the financial operations of our microfinance banking arm. In this full-on-site role based in Ikorodu, Lagos, you will play a critical part in shaping our financial strategy, ensuring strict regulatory compliance, and supporting our mission to bring modern banking to everyone.
Key Responsibilities- Manage end-to-end financial operations of the microfinance bank, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Oversee the accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements mandated by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and other relevant authorities.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable financial insights to support executive decision-making.
- Coordinate seamlessly with internal teams, external auditors, and regulatory bodies during audits and inspections.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls and risk management frameworks to safeguard company assets.
- Optimize existing financial processes and ensure meticulous documentation of all daily transactions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Professional accounting certification such as ACA, ACCA, or equivalent is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in microfinance banking, retail banking, or financial services, ideally in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Comprehensive knowledge of MFB operations, financial management principles, and regulatory frameworks in Nigeria.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software, financial modeling, and MS Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement effective internal controls and risk mitigation strategies.
- Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work on-site in Ikorodu, Lagos, within a fast-paced and mission-driven fintech environment.
