About the Role

Concern on Climate Change for the Community Initiative (FOURCi) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Finance Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. FOURCi is a non-profit organization uniting academics, environmentalists, agricultural experts, and community volunteers to safeguard our climate and support vulnerable populations. Currently focusing our interventions on the BAY states (Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe), we implement critical programs spanning climate education, livelihood and climate-smart agriculture, gender-based violence protection, nutrition, environmental sustainability, and WASH. As our Finance Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring fiscal integrity, compliance, and effective resource allocation for our impactful humanitarian and environmental projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including bookkeeping, cash management, and payroll processing for all project locations in the BAY states.
  • Ensure strict compliance with organizational policies, donor regulations, and statutory financial requirements in Nigeria.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, budget variances, and cash flow forecasts for management and donors.
  • Coordinate internal and external audit processes, ensuring all financial records are well-documented and readily accessible.
  • Support project managers in budget development, financial monitoring, and grant management to optimize resource utilization.
  • Implement robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks and safeguard organizational assets.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (Professional certification such as ICAN or ANAN is a strong advantage).
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant financial management experience, preferably within the non-profit or NGO sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in donor financial compliance, grant management, and budgeting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in multicultural and remote teams across Northeast Nigeria.
