About the Role
Swift Networks is a leading indigenous Internet Service Provider in Nigeria, dedicated to delivering high-speed internet, telephony, and IP-VPN services to residential and enterprise clients throughout Lagos State. We are currently looking for a dynamic and hands-on Field Support Engineer to join our expanding technical team. In this pivotal client-facing role, you will serve as our primary technical expert on-site, ensuring that our network infrastructure delivers exceptional performance, reliability, and security.
Key Responsibilities- Perform on-site installation, configuration, and testing of network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Run, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling while managing rack, stack, and data center deployments.
- Provide advanced Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support, conducting root cause analysis to permanently resolve complex network issues.
- Collaborate closely with the Network Operations Center and remote support teams to execute scheduled health checks and maintenance.
- Climb telecom masts and towers as a mandatory part of hardware installation, alignment, and maintenance duties.
- Create accurate network documentation, inventory records, and client site visit reports.
- Serve as the main technical point of contact for clients, managing expectations and ensuring professional communication on-site.
- Bachelor's Degree with Second Class Upper honors in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a field-based network support or implementation role.
- Strong proficiency in TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, VPN, routing, switching, and firewall administration (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco).
- CCNA certification is strongly preferred; Network+ or equivalent credentials are a significant advantage.
- Physical fitness and willingness to undertake telecom mast climbing is an absolute requirement.
