About the Role

Data Lead Africa is seeking dynamic and detail-oriented Field Enumerators to support an extensive agricultural research study in Cross River State. In this role, you will play a critical part in collecting vital data on agricultural production, farming practices, rural livelihoods, market participation, and socio-economic inclusion. Key Responsibilities
  • Attend and successfully complete mandatory enumerator training on study objectives and research ethics.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to schedule daily field movements and interviews.
  • Conduct face-to-face interviews with farmers, agricultural value-chain actors, and rural households.
  • Administer digital questionnaires accurately using mobile platforms like KoboToolbox or ODK.
  • Capture precise GPS coordinates and assist with farm-area measurements where required.
  • Transcribe and translate interviews into English while ensuring data quality and completeness.
  • Protect respondents' privacy and maintain strict confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications
  • A university degree in Agricultural Science, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting field interviews and quantitative or qualitative data collection.
  • Proficiency in mobile data-collection platforms such as KoboToolbox, ODK, or Survey Solutions.
  • Strong command of English and fluency in local languages commonly spoken in Cross River.
  • Willingness and physical readiness to travel to remote and rural communities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.
