About the Role
Timeless Telecommunications Limited is a leading broadband network operator in Nigeria, committed to providing top-tier internet services using state-of-the-art technologies. We are currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Fiber Engineer to join our expanding field operations team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in deploying and maintaining robust fiber optic infrastructures, ensuring seamless connectivity for our residential, SME, and enterprise customers nationwide.
Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, and maintain fiber optic cables and related equipment for FTTH, backbone, and P2P networks according to strict safety and technical standards.
- Conduct comprehensive field surveys and site assessments for network expansions and new enterprise client setups.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair network faults efficiently using advanced testing tools such as OTDR, Power Meters, and VFL.
- Perform precise fiber splicing and rigorous testing, while maintaining accurate daily logs and installation reports.
- Interact professionally with customers to explain services, resolve technical issues, and guarantee exceptional service delivery.
- Adhere strictly to industry safety protocols and regulatory guidelines during all outdoor and field operations.
- HND, B.Tech, or Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on professional experience in fiber optic telecommunications and data networks.
- Proven expertise in setting up, splicing, and testing fiber optic systems using fusion splicers and OTDR equipment.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, network architecture, and relevant safety compliance standards.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and the readiness to work outdoors across various weather conditions.
